Get a two piece. It is easier to pack, easier to get in and out of as the weather dictates. Don't scimp on these either. The more expensive ones designed for bikers will last several times longer than the lightweight Wal-mart/K-mart/generic sporting goods versions. Check out any of the clothing manufacturers listed in Motorcycle Cruiser and related magazines.
